Job summary

Summa Health System - Akron Campus is hiring an ED Technician I for PT night shift (7p–7:30a), 24 hrs/week, every other weekend/holiday. You will collect specimens, assist physicians and nurses, and help maintain patient records in the ED.

Requirements include graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program or Ohio EMT certification, plus one year of patient care experience; BLS-C certification during training is expected and confidentiality is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of approved Medical Assistant program or certification by the State of Ohio as an Emergency Medical Technician or equivalent combination of education and experience that has provided skills in patient care to include taking vital signs and phlebotomy.
• One year of patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Collects and performs limited tests of specimens per physician order according to established procedures.
• Assists physician and nurse with designated procedures.
• Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
