Job summary

Genesis HealthCare System in Ohio seeks a Multi-Skilled Technician to support Emergency Services. Under RN supervision, the technician will administer basic patient care, assist with procedures and help coordinate throughput across ED activities.

This part-time, night-shift role requires strong clinical skills, attention to detail and teamwork. You may float between campuses and assist with vital signs, specimen collection, wound care, and transport, following safety and infection control

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid CPR certification or obtain within 30 days of employment.
• BCRA certification within 6–12 months of hire date, if classes available.
• Current enrollment in a nursing program or graduation from MST training, or EMT-B may be accepted.
• One year staff assistant or related healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides a full spectrum of patient care within scope of training for ED patients.
• Assists with EKG procedures including patient demographics, lead placement and artifact troubleshooting.
• Collects blood and urine specimens using proper phlebotomy techniques.
• Assists with wound care, dressings and closure preparation.
• Promotes rapid throughput and coordinates patient care between departments and with outside facilities.
• Aids patients with personal needs and documents activities in the hospital system.
• Stocks supplies and maintains cleanliness of patient care areas.
• Supports patient transports to testing and inpatient units as needed.
