Job summary

Cloquet Public Schools is seeking an ECSE Paraprofessional to support certified staff by providing one-on-one/out-of-small-group assistance to students at Churchill Elementary School. The role includes helping with reading, math, and daily living objectives, and requires lifting up to 35 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities include instructional support, record-keeping, behavior management, and assisting with non-instructional duties such as lunch and bus supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework completed or compliance with No Child Left Behind Act required.
• Prior experience working with students with special needs desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist one-on-one with students to meet instructional goals.
• Reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics and computer basics.
• Assist in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests and assessments.
• Prepare instructional materials and reinforce skills per student needs.
• Maintain records documenting student learning and performance.
• Support classroom supervision during lunch, bus duty, playground and study areas.
• Accompany students on field trips to provide supervision.
• Assist with parent contact to foster involvement in student education.
• Support students with disabilities to maximize inclusion and participation.
