Job summary

Shadow Valley Elementary in Ogden, Utah is seeking an Early Literacy Interventionist Staff Assistant to deliver scripted interventions to kindergarten and first grade students. This part-time position works 3.5 hours per day (17.5 hours/week) under the ESP Salary Schedule Range 20, Step 1.

Qualifications

• 48 college credit hours or a passing score on the ParaPro test.
• Knowledge of alphabetical and numerical systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted interventions to individual and/or small groups of students.
• Provide tutoring that reinforces subjects already taught.
• Monitor/record data required for behavior, academic, and IEP plans; supervise children on playground.
• Mediate arguments and enforce school rules.
• Escort students to and from the playground and supervise play areas.
• Administer tests at beginning and end of the school year; record progress.
