Job summary

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a caring Early Learning Teacher Aide to join our team at the University Place Early Learning Center in Tacoma, WA. This part-time role supports the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing learning activities while upholding state licensing standards.

The position offers 25 hours per week with wage between $17.51 and $20.39 per hour, and a range of YMCA employee benefits such as memberships, flexible scheduling, and professional development

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year of experience in an early learning setting.
• Must be flexible and able to adapt to children and program needs.
• Willing to obtain required certifications (CPR, First Aid, TB, food handler, STARS, MMR).
• Commitment to YMCA mission and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining site equipment and cleanliness, following procedures.
• Engage children and support a safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Communicate effectively with site leaders, directors, and families.
• Participate in family events and program activities as applicable.
• Support curriculum implementation and supervision under the Lead Teacher.
