Job summary

YMCA University Place Early Learning Center in Tacoma, WA is seeking a caring Early Learning Teacher Aide to support the Lead Teacher and deliver a child-centered program. This part-time role emphasizes a welcoming, inclusive environment and active engagement with children and families.

The position requires at least 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED, and 1+ year experience in an Early Learning Center, with certifications such as CPR/First Aid and background checks.

Qualifications

• One or more years of experience in an Early Learning Center is required.
• Able to obtain Early Childhood Education Initial Certificate.
• Must be flexible and adapt to meet the needs of children and program.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in planning, organizing, and implementing Early Learning Center services and programs.
• Maintain positive relationships with parents and participants.
• Follow YMCA guidelines, policies, and procedures including CACFP knowledge and safety protocols.
• Support curriculum implementation to provide an integrated, child-centered, multicultural environment.
• Engage children at all times and ensure compliance with state licensing standards.
