Job summary

The YMCA of Memphis & the Mid-South is hiring a part-time Early Learning Center Assistant Teacher at the Georgette & Cato Johnson YMCA in Memphis, TN. You will assist teachers, support activities, and help supervise a group of young children while adhering to schedules and safety rules.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, 1+ year experience with young children, and certifications in first aid and CPR. DHS and STARS training are also expected.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year experience with children ages five and younger.
• First-aid and CPR certifications required.
• TB test or medical clearance; DHS requirements.
• Completion of STARS training.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising children and implementing activities.
• Plan and carry out age-appropriate classroom activities.
• Maintain rosters and assist with sign-in/out.
• Follow daily schedule and participate in staff meetings.
• Provide parent reports and communicate with families.
• Ensure safety and cleanliness of spaces; meals/snacks.
