Job summary

The Oklahoma State Department of Health seeks a Special Educator I, II, or III for a part-time temporary role in Purcell, OK. The hourly rate ranges from Level I to Level III ($21.63–$30.76) depending on education and experience.

Responsibilities include providing early intervention services in the family’s natural environment, conducting screenings, developing IFSPs, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, and maintaining confidential records in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of early childhood development theories and concepts.
• Ability to vary communication style to fit the situation; to understand, persuade and influence outcomes to ensure clients can achieve development goals.
• Ability to assess/evaluate children’s cognitive, social, emotional, communication, motor and adaptive abilities to develop educational outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provides early intervention services in the child and family’s natural environment (home, childcare, park etc.).
• Participates in family interview.
• Conducts intakes and assessments to make recommendations for services.
• Participates in developing Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs).
• Monitors the effectiveness of child health and development services.
