Job summary

Southwest Tennessee Community College invites applications for a part-time Adjunct Faculty position in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. The Adjunct Instructor will coordinate, plan, present, and evaluate classroom instruction in Early Childhood Education across SWTCC campuses.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in teaching or 18 graduate hours in the discipline, plus 2 years of higher education teaching or 1 year plus 3 years in the field.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in the teaching discipline or master’s degree in another discipline with 18 hours of graduate work in the teaching discipline.
• Minimum two (2) years teaching experience in higher education or one (1) year teaching experience and three (3) years employment in the field.
• Experience using diverse instructional delivery methods and technology to facilitate learning.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and delivers instruction on topics in Early Childhood Education.
• Compiles, administers, evaluates and grades student work and communicates progress.
• Develops curricula and instructional materials such as syllabi and handouts.
• Maintains office hours and assists in student recruitment and retention.
• Maintains FERPA-compliant records and attends college meetings and committees.
