Job summary

Midland College is hiring a part-time Childcare Assistant to support teachers in the Children's Center on Main Campus in Midland, TX. The role involves helping with daily routines, activities, meals, diaper changes, and gentle supervision of children aged 4 months to 5 years.

You will assist with playground duties, light cleaning, and contribute to a safe, nurturing environment while meeting state licensing standards and completing required training hours annually.

Qualifications

• Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication in English.
• Ability to use iPads and basic computer skills.
• Positive attitude, dependable, and team-focused.
• Must pass FBI background check and obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with daily routines and classroom activities.
• Help implement children’s activities and support physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.
• Assist with meals, diaper changes, and potty training.
• Perform light cleaning, disinfecting, and laundry as needed in the classroom.
• Support playground duties and supervise children as directed.
• Complete 30 clock hours of early childhood training annually to meet licensing guidelines.
