Job summary

Texas A&M University-San Antonio is seeking an Early Childhood Teacher Aide II to support the daily classroom program under the supervision of the lead teacher. You will help plan and prepare learning environments, set up interest centers, supervise students, and assist with materials and records while maintaining professional conduct and open communication with families.

The position is part-time, requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred coursework in education or childhood

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Two years of education from an accredited college or university (preferred).
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding.

Responsibilities

• Assists with the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the assigned teacher.
• Assists with planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies.
• Supervises the classroom when the teacher is out of the room.
• Helps with general housekeeping and kitchen task.
• Assists the teacher in any other appropriate ways.
• Maintains professional attitudes and loyalty to the school.
• Attends staff meetings and recommended training programs.
• Engages with families to address the needs of the whole child.
• Maintains open communication with parents.
