Job summary

The Arc of Carroll County in Westminster, MD is hiring Part Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide compassionate, one-on-one personal supports to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Responsibilities include community-based or in-home support, transportation assistance, documenting services in iCare, and helping individuals pursue meaningful activities while promoting independence.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid U.S. driver’s license with clean record
• Ability to pass background, drug, and driving checks
• Basic computer and keyboarding skills
• CPR, First Aid, Med Tech Certification and DDA-mandated training
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with transfers
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending/reaching/pulling/pushing
• Ability to assist with wheelchair handling and safe transfers

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one community-based or in-home support
• Provide transportation and support community access
• Create and implement activities tailored to each individual's interests, goals, and abilities
• Encourage independence and self-direction through social, recreational, and educational activities
• Encourage independence and decision-making
• Assist with personal care and mobility as needed
• Document services and progress in iCare
• Follow person-centered plans, policies, and state regulations
