Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of technical clerical work or equivalent.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Familiarity with DMV processes beneficial.
• Typing at least 50 wpm with minimal errors.

Responsibilities

• Interviews applicants to determine license or identification needs; reviews and verifies documents to confirm identity and eligibility.
• Advises applicants on reasons for denial and steps to resolve disqualifications; may provide expert testimony for medical disqualifications.
• Evaluates medical, physical or mental information against state and federal standards; advises on waivers or restrictions for driving privileges.
• Conducts in-depth vehicle safety inspections and administers vision, written, pre-trip and skills tests as appropriate.
• Maintains driver’s license records with confidentiality and compliance to laws.
• Assists Legal Division in gathering evidence for potential legal action on fraudulent applications.
• Responds to inquiries from motor license agents and law enforcement; explains laws and procedures; suggests changes as needed.
