Job summary

Columbus Technical College is seeking a part-time Driver’s Education instructor to teach classes in accordance with Joshua’s Law and DDS requirements. The role covers classroom teaching, driving range practice, and on-road instruction to develop skills for a Class C license.

The position is non-benefits, exempt, with emphasis on program coordination, safety, and documentation of student progress, attendance, and testing.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and a GED or high school diploma.
• Experience or background in driver’s education preferred.
• Must become certified Driver Training Instructor per DDS and Joshua’s Law.

Responsibilities

• Assess students' driving skills and progress to provide feedback.
• Coordinate program components, materials, and driving range setup.
• Instruct students in car control, defensive driving, and road safety.
• Maintain records of attendance, grades, and progress.
• Report incidents and support scheduling for training sessions.
