Job summary

Montgomery County Educational Service Center is seeking a DriveSmart Instructor to provide driver education to teens and adults. You will deliver instruction using the approved Ohio curriculum, adapt methods to learner needs, and maintain a safe, focused learning environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass a required physical examination.
• Valid driver's license held for at least five years with ≤6 points.
• Willingness to complete Ohio Driver Training licensure.
• Strong commitment to safe, defensive driving practices.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Satisfactory pre-employment screening and drug/alcohol testing.
• Flexibility to work non-traditional hours and basic computer use.

Responsibilities

• Provide driver education to teens and adults per Ohio standards.
• Deliver instruction with state curriculum and adapt to learners.
• Maintain classroom and vehicle safety and behavior management.
• Document student progress in Driver Training Logs and notify guardians as needed.
• Complete all required paperwork and reporting promptly.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and organizational policies.
• Report incidents to a supervisor and coordinate maintenance of vehicles.
• Participate in required training and maintain certifications.
• Collaborate with instructors, office staff, and management to support students.
