Job summary

Beacon Behavioral Health in Alexandria, LA seeks a part-time Driver - Patient Transportation/Mental Health Technician to safely transport clients to and from programs. When not driving, you may assist with MHT duties within the outpatient facility.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, one year in a mental health setting preferred, one year of passenger transport experience, and a valid chauffeur’s license (age 25+ for insurance).

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• One year experience in a mental health care setting preferred (e.g., Mental Health Technician or CNA).
• One year experience with passenger transportation.
• Chauffeur’s license and must be age 25+ for insurance.
• Education in a mental health related field may substitute for experience.

Responsibilities

• Transports clients to and from the facility and their place of residence.
• Maintains a current chauffeur’s license and vehicle in good condition.
• Develops rapport with clients and caregivers to support treatment.
• Assists in maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu and follows program rules.
