Job summary

The SC Commission for the Blind (SCCB) seeks a reliable Part-Time Driver to support blind and visually impaired consumers in Conway and to and from the Columbia District Office, approximately 20 hours per week.

You will transport to low vision clinics and SCCB-related appointments, ensuring safe, timely, and professional service. A valid SC driver's license, 1 year of driving experience, and GPS proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Possess a valid South Carolina driver's license with a clean driving record.
• At least 1 year of driving experience.
• Proficiency using GPS device.
• Ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team.
• Ability to assist passengers entering and exiting vehicles as needed.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport SCCB consumers to and from low vision clinics and SCCB-related appointments.
• Provide professional, respectful assistance to consumers during pick-up and drop-off.
• Maintain accurate trip logs and mileage records.
• Communicate scheduling issues to SCCB staff.
• Operate SCCB vehicles in compliance with laws and safety procedures.
• Perform basic vehicle checks and report maintenance needs.
