Qualifications

• Professional driving experience preferred.
• 18 years of age or older.
• A valid state-issued driver’s license with driving record meeting requirements.
• Desire to assist individuals with developmental disabilities and other challenges.
• Successfully complete all required training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives vehicle from homes of persons served or central loading area to destination, according to assigned schedule.
• Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
• Ensures that all passengers use seatbelts and maintains passenger safety during transport.
• Safely operate cellular phone to communicate with base station or other vehicles to report disruptions.
• Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
• Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
• Participates in organizational or departmental committees and meetings, as appropriate.
• Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
