Job summary

Abound Health seeks a compassionate Driver's Aide / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to transport individuals with IDD and support community activities. This part-time role involves driving routes on Tue/Thu and implementing person-centered care, with paid onboarding and ongoing professional development.

Primary hours run Mon-Fri, with additional route coverage as needed. Starting pay is $16.50 per hour, plus weekly pay and eligibility for benefits based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
• Ability to pass criminal, driving record, and healthcare registry checks.
• Ability to safely transport individuals when assigned driving duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist individuals during transportation to and from home, day programs, appointments, and community activities.
• Safely operate a vehicle when assigned routes require coverage.
• Assist individuals with entering and exiting vehicles as needed.
• Monitor passenger safety, comfort, and well-being during transit.
• Provide companionship and support while encouraging independence.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of assigned vehicles.
• Follow transportation schedules and communicate delays or concerns.
• Complete required daily logs, documentation, and incident reports.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
• Work independently while adapting to changing transportation needs.
• Drive safely in all weather conditions when necessary.
