Job summary

Jewish Senior Life of Metropolitan Detroit is seeking a part-time Development and Communication Coordinator to support fundraising efforts. You will cultivate donors, manage donor communications, and assist with Raiser's Edge operations and event support.

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer, professional, and able to collaborate with volunteers, board members, and staff to expand donor engagement and grant activities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of fundraising or donor relations experience.
• Proficiency with donation software/CRM (Raiser’s Edge or similar).
• Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
• Experience with Canva, social media, and basic photography.
• Professional phone and email etiquette; donor correspondence.
• Organized, self-directed, and collaborative.
• Ability to work with volunteers, donors and board members.
• Interest in grant research and writing.

Responsibilities

• Gifts & Donor Cultivation: identify, cultivate, and solicit donors.
• Write personalized donor thank-you notes and correspondence.
• Newsletter creation and website updates; weekly Shabbat Shalom communications.
• Donor stewardship & database management using Raiser's Edge.
• Assist in donor events, logistics, registration, and follow-up.
• Coordinate meetings with volunteers, donors and board members.
• Assist in grant research, writing and reporting.
