Job summary

A Hug Away Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a part-time/per diem Director of Nursing (DON) to provide clinical leadership for our home health and hospice teams in Katy, TX.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and perform admissions and care coordination with physicians and other clinicians. Ideal candidates have a Texas RN license, hospice/home health experience, and strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas.
• Experience in both home health and hospice.
• Clinical leadership or management experience.
• Knowledge of home health and hospice documentation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with Kinnser/WellSky preferred.
• Familiarity with OASIS, IDG meetings, and QA processes.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to travel within the agency's service area.
• Compassionate approach to patients and families, including pediatric hospice.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Support staff onboarding, training, and ongoing professional development.
• Coordinate clinical operations and maintain standards of care.
• Collaborate with agency leadership to improve processes and outcomes.
• Perform admissions, recertifications, and hospice/home health visits.
• Conduct patient assessments and ensure care planning.
• Coordinate care with physicians and therapists.
• Ensure compassionate, patient-centered care and family support.
• Support nursing coverage and patient coordination as needed.
• Review records for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
