Job summary

Northeast Arc is seeking a part-time Driver to provide safe, timely transportation for individuals served from their homes to day programs and other authorized locations. You will support the Transportation Department's mission and work under the Director of Transportation.

The role requires 3+ years driving experience, a valid MA license, and the ability to assist individuals with disabilities. Expect a 7am-9am and 2pm-4pm schedule, with a focus on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of driving experience with an acceptable driving record; must be 19 years of age; experience supporting individuals with disabilities is a plus.
• Desire and ability to work with and support individuals with disabilities.
• Knowledge of MA State and Federal laws regarding safe driving; MART regulations preferred.
• Valid MA driver's license and 3 years of driving experience within the USA; acceptable driving record required.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transportation for individuals served from their homes to day programs and/or other locations.
• Assist with compiling documents related to Northeast Arc and department policies and DDS/MART regulations.
• Safely assist individuals while entering/exiting and moving around vehicles.
• Move individuals in wheelchairs and operate the wheelchair lift.
• Perform general vehicle maintenance and safety duties.
• Clear snow and ice from around vehicles as needed.
• Safely operate various vehicles including minivans, SUVs, and wheelchair vans.
