Job summary

Delta College is seeking a Part-Time Temporary Disability Resources Specialist to join the Disability Services team at University Center, MI. The role is on site, 29 hours per week, year-round, with an hourly rate of $17.96.

The successful candidate will review disability documentation, coordinate accommodations, and support students in understanding their rights and rights to accommodations. Experience in higher education and commitment to inclusion are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with majors in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work, or Special Education plus 1-3 years of related experience.
• Alternatively, 3-5 years of related work experience without a Bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Review disability documentation to determine eligibility for services and accommodations.
• Assess how a student’s disability interacts with academics and plan accommodations.
• Coordinate communication between faculty, staff, and students with disabilities.
• Assist students in understanding their disabilities and rights regarding accommodations.
• Document and review case records in electronic files.
• Support the Leave of Absences process for students seeking short-term leaves.
• Perform other duties to support students and Disability Resources.
