Job summary

College of Southern Nevada's Disability Resource Center at the Henderson Campus is seeking part-time Accommodation Service Providers to assist students with documented disabilities, on-campus and virtually. Roles include note-taking, reading aloud, scribing, lab assistance, and proctoring accommodated exams with strict procedures.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a multi-cultural setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; prefer one year of post-secondary experience.
• Understanding of sensitivities when communicating with students with disabilities.
• Ability to take thorough notes using available technology from verbal classroom input.
• Legible handwriting, proper spelling, grammar, and basic computer proficiency.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Ability to collaborate in a diverse, multi-ethnic environment.

Responsibilities

• Take notes in class, on campus or virtually for students with disabilities.
• Read printed materials aloud for students with visual impairments.
• Scribe or transcribe for students with mobility impairments.
• Assist with lab and exam accommodations under instructor guidance.
• Proctor accommodated exams and enforce testing protocols and privacy rules.
• Administer and proctor accommodated exams per established procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to privacy laws.
• Assist with adaptive technology setup and takedown.
