Job summary

Easterseals PORT Health in Hampstead, NC is seeking a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with IDD in home and community settings. This part-time role offers afternoon/after school hours and local travel with clients.

You will assist with daily tasks, transportation, scheduling, and documentation in the electronic health record. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, on-the-job training, reliable transportation, and a willingness to learn EHR systems.

Qualifications

• Entry-level experience; on-the-job training is provided.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping, nutrition, and safety protocols.
• Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and dependability are musts.
• Proficiency with EHR systems or willingness to learn.
• Reliable transportation, driver’s license, and current auto insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in the home and community of the individual.
• Assist with everyday tasks such as housekeeping, meal preparation, cooking, cleaning, and personal care (bathing, dressing, toiletry, diaper changes); also provide employment support.
• Transport the client to appointments and run errands when needed.
• Help plan and organize their schedule.
• Document and report daily in the electronic health system of record.
