Job summary

Dungarvin is hiring a part-time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide direct support and positive direction to individuals with I/DD and/or complex medical needs. The role emphasizes health, safety, and achievement of personal goals, with paid orientation and growth opportunities.

You will enrich residents’ lives, provide companionship, assist with daily living activities, meal prep, light housekeeping, and transportation, while following support plans and documenting care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Previous caregiver experience preferred
• Ability to attend two weeks of PAID in-house orientation and training (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm)

Responsibilities

• Enrich and support the lives of our residents while maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Provide companionship and personalized care while encouraging independence and self-care.
• Assist with activities of daily living, including dressing, bathing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
• Prepare meals and snacks.
• Perform light housekeeping and laundry duties.
• Provide transportation in the community
• Provide mobility and transfer assistance, which may include using mechanical lift devices.
• Implement positive behavior supports and de-escalate challenging behaviors when needed.
• Other duties as assigned
