Job summary

ACCESS in Cabot, Arkansas seeks a Part-Time Caregiver / Direct Support Professional to help individuals with disabilities live more independently in their homes and communities. No prior DSP experience is required; training will be provided before working directly with clients.

You will assist with daily living activities, support skill development, and participate in community activities while promoting safety and empowerment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 18 years’ old.
• No prior direct support experience is required; two full days of training and orientation are provided, with one day of training client-specific.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily living activities and personal goals.
• Help clients develop skills such as cooking, budgeting, communication, and routines.
• Plan and participate in recreational and community-based activities.
• Provide transportation to appointments, activities, and other locations.
• Encourage independence, personal choice, and community involvement.
• Follow individualized support and behavior plans.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and positive environment.
• Document services and communicate important updates.
• Celebrate progress and help clients reach meaningful milestones.
