Minnehaha County Safe Home invites applications for a Part-Time Direct Support Professional in Sioux Falls. The overnight shift offers flexibility and meaningful work supporting residents in a Housing First program.

You will monitor front desk operations, assist residents, handle security, meals, and cleaning, and coordinate maintenance while maintaining safety and a positive environment.

Competenze

• A high school diploma or GED plus one year general office or security work.
• Must be age 21 or older at time of hiring.
• Experience in environments requiring critical thinking and problem-solving.

Safe Home is a 33‑unit supportive housing program designed to provide individuals experiencing long‑term homelessness and alcohol dependence with permanent housing opportunities, intensive case management, and access to additional supportive services. Safe Home is an evidence‑based ‘Housing First’ concept that provides housing to the most chronically homeless residents of the community, the overall costs of community, emergency services are reduced dramatically.

The hiring range for this position is $20.00-$20.50/hr PLUS a $1.00/hr night shift differential!

What You Need to Succeed in this Role

A high school diploma or GED plus one year general office or security work. Must be age 21 or older at the time of hiring. Comparable combination of education and experience may be considered. Experience working in an environment that requires critical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Must successfully complete pre‑employment background process.

Strong problem‑solving skills to quickly and efficiently resolve issues while diffusing challenging situations and conflicts. Strong multi‑tasking abilities. Knowledge of and skill in using technology and related software systems. Effective verbal and written communication. Ability to build and maintain positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, other agencies, and the public. Demonstrate team participation and a workplace philosophy that enriches staff’s ability to reach goals and provide a high level of customer service. Present a professional appearance and communicate with others in a respectful and approachable way.
