Terrapin House, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional to provide one-on-one support in Whitehall, PA.

You will assist with daily routines, transportation, and community activities for an adult in his own home, fostering independence while respecting his choices and pace. The role emphasizes flexibility, reliability, and compassionate engagement in creative and technology activities when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Friendly, patient, and able to build rapport.
• Ability to obtain and pass required background checks and employment requirements.
• Disability-support experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Support independence with home routines such as meal preparation, organization, laundry, and light housekeeping.
• Help plan and participate in community activities, errands, and outings, including providing transportation.
• Support individual’s interests in fife and drum music, graphics, and creative projects, including getting back on social media.
• Offer encouragement and practical guidance while respecting his choices, privacy, and pace.
• Communicate respectfully with the participant and coordinate with family and the support team as needed.
