Job summary

Villa St. Francis in Olathe, KS is seeking a part-time dietary aide to support our meals and nutrition program for residents. Work hours are 4pm-7:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with on-the-job training provided.

The role emphasizes safe food handling, friendly resident interaction, and teamwork across departments. Responsibilities include assisting with meal service, maintaining clean dining and kitchen areas, and ensuring adherence to sanitation policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
• Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with residents, family members, and staff.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assure that all dietary procedures are followed per established policies.
• Develop and maintain good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel.
• Create an atmosphere of warmth and calm throughout the department.
• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Clean work tables, refrigerators, and other equipment; keep areas clean and safe.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed and dispose of trash appropriately.
• Prepare food in accordance with sanitary regulations and policies.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

• Assure that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
• Develop and maintain a good working rapport with interdepartmental personnel, as well as with other department within the facility to assure that food service can be properly maintained to meet the needs of the residents.
• Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
• Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Assist in serving meals as necessary and on a timely basis.
• Clean worktables, meat clocks, refrigerators/freezers, etc.
• Sweep and mop floors as directed.
• Carry out garbage and keep work areas clean. Dry, and free of hazardous equipment, supplies, etc.
• Prepare food, etc., in accordance with sanitary regulations, as well as with our established policies and procedures.
• Assure that the department is maintained in a clean and safe manner by assuring that necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties/services.
