Job summary

ClearSky Health in Texas seeks a Registered Dietitian to design and implement therapeutic nutritional care plans for hospitalized patients. You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, document in medical records, educate patients and families, and ensure menus align with prescribed diets.

This full-time role requires RD licensure and 2+ years in a hospital setting, plus strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Two years directly related hospital experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, nutritional sciences, clinical nutrition, public health nutrition, or related area required.
  • Registered Dietitian licensure required by state requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in nutritional care and documents in medical records.
  • Monitors patient progress and notes care plans and outcomes.
  • Educates patients, families and staff on diet plans and nutrition.
  • Maintains dietary operations to ensure menus meet prescribed nutritional plans.
  • Maintains current diet manual approved jointly by dietitian and medical staff.
  • Complies with safety and infection prevention standards and promotes a safe environment.

This position must integrate company values into daily practice.Essential Functions:Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the nutritional aspects of patient care by: sharing specialized knowledge with others on the medical team, participating appropriately in patient rounds and conferences, recording in medical records, and assessing the nutritional status of patients, instructing patients, recording diet histories, interpreting and integrating therapeutic principles.Monitors and documents patient progress and consults with physicians as needed. Makes appropriate notation of food and drug interaction in the patient medical record.Educates and provides guidance to staff, patients, and families regarding diet and food plans.Administers and advises dietary operations to ensure menus comply with prescribed nutritional plans.Maintain current diet manual for therapeutic diets that have been approved jointly by the dietitian and medical staff.May be required to work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies.Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors, and staff. Assesses the risks for safety and implements appropriate precautions.
