Job summary

PACS is seeking a dependable Dietary Cook to join Mission Valley Post Acute in Mission Valley. You will prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that meet residents' dietary needs, following approved menus and dietary guidelines.

You’ll work with the dietary team to ensure meals are prepared safely, served on time, and presented well, while supporting residents with compassionate, individualized care. This part-time role offers a competitive hourly rate and opportunities to grow within the

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in healthcare or similar setting.
• Knowledge of therapeutic/modified diets a plus.
• Food handler certification or ability to obtain on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus, recipes, and dietary guidelines.
• Ensure meals meet residents’ nutritional needs and physician-ordered diets.
• Prepare and modify meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including diabetic, low-sodium, and texture-modified diets.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, infection control, and workplace safety requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen.
• Properly store, label, and rotate food items to maintain freshness and comply with food safety standards.
• Assist with inventory and communicate food and supply needs to dietary leadership.
• Support meal service and ensure proper portion sizes and presentation.
• Work collaboratively with dietary staff, nursing, and other members of the care team.
• Help ensure residents receive meals that are nutritious, appealing, and prepared according to their individual needs.
