Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in a restaurant or institutional kitchen.
• Strong communication skills with residents, coworkers, and family members.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Solid math skills for measurements, portioning, and basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Keep all kitchen equipment and prep/serving areas clean and organized.
• Plan and follow a cooking schedule to ensure meals are ready on time.
• Maintain food quality and safety by regularly checking temperatures and tasting dishes.
• Set up food on steam tables and restock as needed during service.
• Follow portion control guidelines during meal prep and serving.
• Check and properly use leftover perishables to minimize waste.
• Jump in and help with other kitchen duties as needed.
