Job summary

Allure of Peru in Peru, Illinois is seeking a compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team. You will help ensure residents receive excellent foodservice while maintaining a clean and safe environment.

You will review menus, prepare meals and snacks, maintain sanitation, perform dishwashing, deliver food carts and trays, and assist in dining room service and kitchen cleaning as directed. Hours are part-time, 4pm to 7pm, with every other weekend, and training and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak and understand English.
• Maintain care and use of supplies and equipment; ensure sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of duties.
• Must be patient, cheerful, enthusiastic with residents.
• Willingness to adopt new food practices and methods.
• Must not pose a direct threat to health or safety.

Responsibilities

• Review, prepare, and serve meals per planned menus with standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks and substitutes for residents who refuse served foods.
• Ensure food, equipment, and supplies are prepared in accordance with sanitary regulations.
• Maintain the department in a clean and safe manner by ensuring equipment and supplies are maintained.
• Perform dishwashing and cleaning procedures to keep utensils and equipment ready for the next meal.
• Prepare and deliver snacks, and deliver food carts and trays to designated areas.
• Serve food and drinks in the dining room, and sweep/mop floors in the kitchen and dish room as directed by the supervisor.
