Job summary

Plum Tree Care Center, a Generations Healthcare facility in San Jose, California, is seeking a part-time Dietary Aide to join our compassionate team. The role involves assisting in all food functions, serving meals, and maintaining sanitation in a skilled nursing environment.

Qualifications

• Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with residents, staff, visitors and the public.
• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Maintain sanitation, order, safety and proper performance of duties.
• Willing to adopt new methods and principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance in all food functions as directed and per policies.
• Work with Dietitian/Director of Food Services to implement changes.
• Develop good rapport with inter-department personnel to meet residents’ needs.
• Assist in serving meals in a timely manner.
• Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties per policy.
• Set up meal trays, carts, dining room as instructed.
• Assist in cooking and meal preparation as needed.
• Distribute and collect menus as necessary.
• Obtain food supplies for next meal.
• Check diet trays before distribution and deliver as required.
