Colorado Department of Corrections is seeking a part-time Dental Hygienist to provide routine dental assessment and hygiene services to offenders at Sterling Correctional Facility. The role includes prophylaxis, patient education, scheduling and triage, with potential travel to other facilities.

Applicants must hold a Colorado Dental Board license, have at least 5 years of experience, and be capable of working in a multidisciplinary, correctional environment.

Qualifications

• Active Colorado Dental Board licensure as a dental hygienist.
• Minimum 5 years of dental hygiene experience.
• Ability to work in a correctional environment.
• Willingness to travel to other facilities if required.

Responsabilités

• Assess patient dental condition and screen for problems.
• Perform dental prophylaxis and scaling/root planing as needed.
• Develop and provide instructions on dental hygiene and oral healthcare.
• Schedule patient visits and coordinate services.
• Review, evaluate & prioritize offender requests for dental care; schedule facility visits.
• Disinfect operatory, clean and sterilize instruments.
• Maintain inventory for dental hygiene supplies and operate supply systems.
• Follow radiation safety and infection control guidelines.
