Qualifications

• Must have prior dental assisting experience OR have completed a certified dental assisting program.
• Dental Assistant certification preferred.
• Ability to take dental radiographs (or willingness to obtain certification).
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills.
• Ability to anticipate provider and patient needs.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Comfortable working with computers and digital software.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Assist with dental treatment of patients, including seating patients and assisting with procedures.
• Prepare and mix dental materials as instructed.
• Chart treatment in patient records.
• Prepare treatment plans and clearly explain procedures to patients.
• Prepare work areas and instruments for the dentist.
• Maintain a neat and orderly operatory.
• Clean, oil, and set up equipment.
• Disinfect surfaces and sterilize instruments.
• Set up instrument trays.
• Take necessary x-rays and import them into software.
• Take dental impressions and pour cast models.
