Job summary

Artisan Dental in Madison, WI, is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant to join a friendly, technology-forward team. The role requires at least 1 year of experience, Dentrix proficiency, and an active X-ray certification, with CPR/BLS current. EFDA certification is a plus.

The position focuses on chairside support, patient care, and collaboration in a modern practice using digital X-rays, CAD/CAM, iTero, and Dentrix AI. Schedule is Tue–Wed 7-5.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of dental assisting experience
• Dentrix experienced required
• X-ray certification (or ability to obtain per state requirements)
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• EFDA certification preferred (if applicable)
• Strong clinical and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

• Assist the dentist chairside during a variety of procedures
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and operatories in accordance with infection control protocols
• Take digital radiographs (X-rays) and intraoral images
• Record and update patient medical histories and clinical notes accurately
• Ensure patient comfort before, during, and after procedures
• Provide patient education on oral hygiene, treatment plans, and post-operative care
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and organization
• Manage inventory and restock supplies as needed
• Support front office duties as needed, including scheduling and patient communication
