Job summary

Pima Medical Institute Houston campus is seeking a Part-Time Dental Assistant Instructor (24 hours/week) to deliver morning and afternoon lectures and hands-on labs on-site in Houston, TX. The instructor will ensure regulatory ratios, teach four-handed and six-handed dentistry, radiography, and lab safety while guiding adult learners toward successful dental assisting careers.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Dental Assistant program recognized by USDE or CHEA.
• Minimum of three years of job-related training and experience in dental assisting for non-graduates.
• Active Texas state registration/credential required by law to work as a Dental Assistant.
• CDA/RDA or licensed dentist credentials preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver morning and afternoon lectures and hands-on lab sessions.
• Design and deliver engaging lesson plans for diverse learners.
• Instruct students in four-handed and six-handed dentistry principles.
• Maintain regulatory instructor-to-student ratios in class and labs.
• Grade classwork and labs within 72 hours with constructive feedback.
• Maintain office hours to advise students and support progress.
• Supervise externships and coordinate guest speakers.
• Periodically evaluate facilities and equipment for updates.
