Job summary

The City of Sioux Falls Health Department is seeking a part-time Dental Assistant for Falls Community Health. The role supports the dental clinic with chair-side assistance and front desk tasks, and works up to 28 hours weekly, Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule based on clinic needs.

Responsibilities include assisting dentists and hygienists, infection control, inventory management, and maintaining patient records.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved school for dental assisting or equivalent as acceptable to the hiring authority.
• Must possess South Dakota dental assistant license and radiology license.
• Nitrous oxide license required within six (6) months of hire.
• Part-time position; maximum 28 hours per week, M-F.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentist and hygienists in providing dental care.
• Perform chair-side assisting and front desk tasks.
• Handle infection control, inventory, and records.
