Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Connecticut State Department of Education educator certificate with endorsement areas 057, 058 as applicable.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish or Haitian Creole highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and support student learning for deaf and hard of hearing students during a designated time across all content subjects.
• Reports to: Principal.
• Provide comprehensive school counseling services that support students' academic achievement, college and career readiness, and personal/social development.
• Deliver individual, small-group, and classroom counseling while helping students develop academic plans, organizational skills, and strategies for success.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and community partners to identify student needs, remove barriers to learning, and promote positive student outcomes.
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and overall well-being, using data to inform interventions and support student achievement.
• Promote a safe, inclusive school environment by providing prevention education, responding to student concerns, making appropriate referrals, and fulfilling mandated reporting responsibilities in accordance with state law.
