Job summary

New World School of the Arts seeks an Adjunct Faculty member in Dance to teach Ballet and/or Modern Dance techniques. This role may involve choreographing and directing works for high school and college students, with emphasis on anatomy, kinesiology, and dance composition.

Courses may be offered in MDC In-Person, MDC Live, MDC Online, and Blended formats. A Master's in Dance or equivalent with 18 graduate hours and professional teaching experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Dance from a regionally accredited institution orMaster's with 18 graduate credits in Dance.
• Professional dance experience preferred.
• Professional level dance teaching experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with diverse students in a multi-ethnic environment.

Responsibilities

• Teaches ballet and/or modern dance techniques.
• Choreographs and directs works for students.
• Develops curricula for courses and labs.
• Recruits students and participates in department activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
