Job summary

Dollar Tree in Hammond, LA is seeking a part-time Customer Service Associate to help customers, handle register duties, stock merchandise, and keep the store clean and welcoming. You will assist shoppers, process transactions, and maintain safety and order across the store environment.

The role emphasizes friendly interactions, reliability, and teamwork, with responsibilities including unloading stock and responding to customer needs in a fast-paced retail setting.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service experience in retail or similar environment.
• Ability to follow instructions and interpret operational documents is required.
• Must be able to lift between 30 and 50 lbs and meet the demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Excellent customer service and relationship management skills are required.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with questions and recommendations.
• Manage sales transactions while working assigned cash register.
• Maintain security of cash and protect company assets.
• Keep the store well-stocked, and recover merchandise.
• Receive merchandise and help with unloading trucks, stock replenishment in accordance with productivity standards.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment while maintaining professional and friendly interactions with customers, associates, and leaders.
• Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness throughout the store, including cleaning and restocking bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, taking out the trash, and ensuring all areas are neat and presentable.
