Job summary

Potbelly Corporate is hiring a Team Member in Crystal Lake, IL for daytime, afternoon or evening shifts. You will help customers with orders, operate cash register, prepare sandwiches and maintain a clean dining area.

Earn between $15.25 and $15.75 per hour plus digital tips in a friendly, fast-paced environment. Must be at least 16, with good communication and teamwork. Illinois applicants must obtain a food safety certification within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a bustling kitchen; knife skills are a plus.
• Able to manage allergens: peanut, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish.
• Team player.
• Able to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours; lift up to 50 pounds.
• Illinois applicants must become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations as directed by a Shift Leader or Manager.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness and safety.
• Restock food line, chips and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products (sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, ice cream) efficiently.
• If 18 or older, use of the automatic slicer to prep food items.
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate cash register and maintain accurate cash handling.
• Handle customer complaints/issues effectively.
• Take delivery/catering/pickup orders over the phone.
• Other duties as assigned.
