Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, restrooms, offices, halls, cafeteria, church, and common areas.
• Maintain floors: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, waxing.
• Perform routine repairs: leaks, lighting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
• Set up and break down spaces for events.
• Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe, debris-free.
• Monitor building systems and report larger repairs.
• Organize maintenance supplies and notify when stock low.
• Assist with deliveries and moving furniture.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a secure facility.

Position Overview

The Maintenance Worker supports the mission of Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School and Parish by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, parishioners, and visitors. This position involves daily cleaning, facility upkeep, light repairs, and general maintenance tasks throughout the school, church, and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, church, and common areas.
  
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing as needed.
  
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and minor plumbing, electrical, or carpentry tasks.
  
• Set up and break down spaces for school and parish events, assemblies, and meetings.
  
• Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe, and free from debris or snow.
  
• Monitor building systems and report larger repair needs to the Building Manager or outside contractors.
  
• Organize maintenance supplies and equipment; notify the Building Manager when stock needs replenishing.
  
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, and other manual tasks as requested.
  
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a secure facility.

Schedule & Compensation

• Part -time, Temporary position with the possibility of permanent placement (29hrs per week)
• Schedule: 2 pm-8 pm (Monday- Friday; occasional evenings/weekends for events)
• $15-17 an hour
