Job summary

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish and School is seeking a part-time, temporary Maintenance Support Worker to assist in the daily upkeep of its facilities, including the School, Church and Parish buildings. The role covers minor repairs, painting, grounds maintenance, and custodial tasks to keep environments safe for students, staff and visitors.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (or equivalent) and proven maintenance experience, with basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry knowledge.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Minor repairs to walls, doors, windows, locks, and furniture.
• Repair leaky faucets, unclog drains, and replace light bulbs/tubes (plumbing & electrical).
• Interior/exterior painting and touch-ups.
• Grounds maintenance: lawn care, trash removal, landscaping.
• Setup and breakdown for events; organize chairs and equipment.
• Safety checks and reporting hazards to management.
• Assist with cleaning duties as needed.

Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish and School is seeking a part-time, temporary Maintenance Support Worker to assist in the daily upkeep of Blessed Sacrament’s facilities, including the School, Church and Parish buildings. The ideal candidate will handle minor repairs, painting, grounds maintenance, and assist with general custodial tasks to ensure a safe and operational environment for students, staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Minor Repairs: Perform basic repairs to walls, doors, windows, locks, and furniture.
• Plumbing & Electrical: Repair leaky faucets, unclog drains, and replace light bulbs/tubes.
• Painting & Upkeep: Perform interior/exterior painting and touch-ups.
• Grounds Maintenance: Assist with lawn mowing, trash removal, and general landscaping.
• Setup/Breakdown: Organize chairs, tables, and equipment for events or meetings.
• Safety Checks: Inspect facilities for hazards and report issues to management.
• Custodial Assistance: Assist with cleaning duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Proven experience as a maintenance worker.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good time management to handle multiple work orders.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Ability to lift up to 50-100 pounds.
• Comfortable working on ladders and standing for long periods.

This position will be posted until August 7, 2026. Hourly compensation is $19.29/hour.
