Job summary

The Maintenance Worker role at St. Andrew Catholic School and Parish supports the mission by maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, parishioners, and visitors.

Daily cleaning, facility upkeep, light repairs, and general maintenance tasks are performed across the school, church, and surrounding grounds. Schedule is part-time, year-round (29hrs/week) with a shift from 8 pm to 1 pm, Monday through Friday, plus occasional evenings/weekends for events.

Qualifications

• Experience in custodial, facilities, or general maintenance preferred.
• Ability to perform basic repairs and safely use hand and power tools.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform manual labor.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Commitment to the values and mission of a Catholic parish and school environment.
• Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, church, and common areas.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and minor plumbing, electrical, or carpentry tasks.
• Set up and break down spaces for school and parish events, assemblies, and meetings.
• Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe, and free from debris or snow.
• Monitor building systems and report larger repair needs to the Building Manager or outside contractors.
• Organize maintenance supplies and equipment; notify the Building Manager when stock needs replenishing.
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, and other manual tasks as requested.

This position involves daily cleaning, facility upkeep, light repairs, and general maintenance tasks throughout the school, church, and surrounding grounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, restrooms, offices, hallways, cafeteria, church, and common areas.
• Maintain floors through sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, stripping, and waxing as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair work such as fixing leaks, replacing light bulbs, and minor plumbing, electrical, or carpentry tasks.

• Ensure grounds and entryways are clean, safe, and free from debris or snow.

Schedule & Compensation:

• Part -time, year-round position (29hrs per week)
• Schedule: 8 pm-1 pm (Monday- Friday; occasional evenings/weekends for events)
• $15-19 an hour
