Job Duties

The Custodian/Housekeeper reports directly to the Property Manager or the Lead Maintenance Technician. It is essential that the Custodian/Housekeeper report to work at their scheduled hours. They must be able to walk the property regularly and as needed to perform their duties, including climbing stairs. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Sweeping/vacuuming all public areas, stairways, halls, laundry rooms, building entrances, and trash rooms daily.
• Wet mopping/vacuuming public areas 3-4 times a week, depending on usage.
• Dusting and cleaning laundry room washers and dryers weekly; removing trash and empty soap boxes daily.
• Dusting light fixtures weekly; cleaning insects monthly; replacing bulbs as needed.
• Monthly cleaning of mailbox fronts, public walls, halls, and scrub walls in trash rooms.
• Delivering notices and letters as directed.
• Emptying trash in vacant apartments as directed.
• Cleaning, treating, and servicing the pool per schedule.
• Picking up trash on grounds and in common areas daily or as needed.
• Reporting missing light bulbs, damage, vandalism, or other incidents in writing to the supervisor.
• Performing assigned duties in designated zones, including trash pickup and sidewalk cleaning.
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Property Manager or Supervisors.

Additional Information

• Work hours are set by the Regional Manager; any changes require supervisor approval.
• Custodian/Housekeeper must report issues like damage or vandalism in writing.
• Specific zones may be assigned to each Custodian/Housekeeper.
