Position: Custodian/Housekeeper

The Custodian/Housekeeper reports directly to the Property Manager or the Lead Maintenance Technician. It is essential that the Custodian/Housekeeper report to work at his/her scheduled hours. The Custodian/Housekeeper must be able to walk the property regularly and as needed to perform job duties, including walking all around the property and stairs. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Cleaning all public areas, stairways, halls, laundry rooms, building entrances, and trash rooms daily.
• Wet mopping/vacuuming public areas three to four times a week, depending on usage and appearance.
• Dusting and cleaning washers and dryers weekly; removing trash and empty soap boxes daily.
• Dusting light fixtures weekly; cleaning insects and replacing bulbs as needed monthly.
• Cleaning mailbox fronts, public walls, halls, and scrub walls in trash rooms monthly.
• Delivering notices and letters as directed.
• Emptying trash in vacant apartments as directed.
• Cleaning, treating, and servicing the pool as scheduled.
• Picking up trash on grounds and in common areas daily or as necessary.
• Reporting missing light bulbs, damage, vandalism, or unusual conditions to the supervisor in writing.

Work hours are set by the Regional Manager and cannot be changed without supervisor approval. The Custodian/Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining assigned zones, including trash pickup, sidewalk cleaning, and other duties assigned by the supervisor or Property Manager.

Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
