Position: Custodian/Housekeeper

The Custodian/Housekeeper reports directly to the Property Manager or Lead Maintenance Technician. It is essential that the employee report to work at scheduled hours and be able to walk the property regularly to perform job duties, including navigating stairs. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

General Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, stairways, halls, laundry rooms, building entrances, and trash rooms by sweeping or vacuuming daily.
• Wet mop or vacuum public areas three to four times weekly, depending on usage.
• Dust and clean washers and dryers weekly; remove trash and empty soap boxes daily.
• Dust light fixtures weekly; clean insects and debris monthly; replace bulbs as needed.
• Clean mailbox fronts, walls, halls, and scrub trash room walls monthly.
• Deliver notices and letters as directed.
• Empty trash in vacant apartments as instructed.
• Clean, treat, and service the pool according to the schedule provided by the supervisor.
• Pick up trash on grounds and in common areas daily or as necessary.
• Report missing light bulbs, damages, vandalism, or other incidents in writing to the supervisor.

Work hours are set by the Regional Manager and cannot be changed without supervisor approval. The Custodian/Housekeeper may be assigned to specific zones and responsibilities such as trash pickup, sidewalk cleaning, and other duties as required by the supervisor.

Additional duties may be assigned by the Property Manager or other Supervisors.
